أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ مُكْرَمٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ إِشْكَابٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا قُرَادٌ أَبُو نُوحٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَوْفٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : جَاءَهُ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ : إِنِّي عَمِلْتُ هَذِهِ التَّصَاوِيرَ ، قَالَ : فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُعَذَّبُ الْمُصَوِّرِينَ لِمَا صَوَّرُوا " ، قَالَ : فَذَهَبَ الرَّجُلُ وَزَعَمَ أَنَّ لَهُ عِيَالا ، قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ : لا تُصَوِّرْ شَيْئًا فِيهِ رُوحٌ .
It is narrated about Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) that a person came to him and said: I make these pictures, so Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) informed that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Indeed, Allah Almighty will punish the makers of pictures because of making pictures."
The narrator states: That person went away; he had mentioned that he had children (for whom he earned a livelihood in this way), so Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) said: Do not make any picture that is of a living thing.
