أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ خُزَيْمَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الأَعْلَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي أُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ اللَّيْثِيُّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ ، عَنْ أُمِّهِ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ وَكَانَتْ فِي حِجْرِ عَائِشَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : " قَدِمَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ سَفَرٍ وَعِنْدِي نَمَطٌ فِيهِ صُورَةٌ ، فَوَضَعْتُهُ عَلَى سَهْوَتِي ، قَالَ : فَأَخَذَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَاجْتَبَذَهُ ، وَقَالَ : " أَتَسْتُرِينَ الْجِدَارَ ؟ " فَجَعَلْتُهُ وِسَادَتَيْنِ ، فَرَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَرْتَفِقُ عَلَيْهِمَا .
Lady Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) returned from a journey. I had a curtain on which there was a picture; I had hung it over a niche. Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took hold of it and pulled it down and said, "Are you putting up a curtain on the wall?" I made two cushions out of that cloth. Then I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) reclining on them (that is, he did not forbid its use in this way).
