Hadith 584

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدُ بْنُ مُسَرْهَدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لا يَتَنَاجَى اثْنَانِ دُونَ صَاحِبِهِمَا ، فَإِنَّ ذَلِكَ يُحْزِنُهُ " قَالَ أَبُو صَالِحٍ : فَقُلْتُ لابْنِ عُمَرَ : فَأَرْبَعَةٌ ؟ قَالَ : لا يَضُرُّكَ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Two people should not converse secretly with each other excluding their (third) companion, because this will make him sad." The narrator named Abu Salih says: I asked Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them): What if there are four people? He replied: Then there is no harm to you.
