Hadith 5835

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزِّنَادِ ، عَنِ الأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، يَبْلُغُ بِهِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَخْنَعُ الأَسْمَاءِ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ رَجُلٌ تُسَمَّى بِمِلْكِ الأَمْلاكِ " ، يَعْنِي : شَاهَانِ شَاهَا .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: He received this statement from the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him): "The worst name in the sight of Allah Almighty is that a person is called 'King of Kings'." (The narrator says:) That is, he is called 'Shahanshah' (Emperor).
