أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الضَّبِّيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَسَّانُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَسْرُوقٍ ، عَنْ يُوسُفَ بْنِ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ ، قَالَ : أَتَيْتُ عَائِشَةَ ، فَقُلْتُ : يَا أُمَّاهُ ، حَدِّثِينِي بِشَيْءٍ سَمِعْتِيهِ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَتْ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الطَّيْرُ يَجْرِي بِقَدَرٍ ، وَكَانَ يُعْجِبُهُ الْفَأْلُ الْحَسَنُ " .
Abu Burdah narrates: I presented myself before Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) and said: O mother, please relate to me a hadith which you heard from the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). So Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) informed: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: Bad omens occur according to destiny. However, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) liked good omens.
