أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الأَزْدِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، أَنَّ رَجُلا مِنْ أَهْلِ الْبَادِيَةِ يُقَالُ لَهُ زَاهِرُ بْنُ حَرَامٍ ، كَانَ يُهْدِي إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْهَدِيَّةَ ، فَيُجَهِّزُهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَخْرُجَ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ زَاهِرًا بَادِينَا ، وَنَحْنُ حَاضِرُوهُ " ، قَالَ : فَأَتَاهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يَبِيعُ مَتَاعَهُ ، فَاحْتَضَنَهُ مِنْ خَلْفِهِ وَالرَّجُلُ لا يُبْصِرُهُ ، فَقَالَ : أَرْسِلْنِي ! مَنْ هَذَا ؟ فَالْتَفَتَ إِلَيْهِ ، فَلَمَّا عَرَفَ أَنَّهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَعَلَ يُلْزِقُ ظَهْرَهُ بِصَدْرِهِ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ يَشْتَرِي هَذَا الْعَبْدَ " ؟ ! فَقَالَ زَاهِرٌ : تَجِدُنِي يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ كَاسِدًا ، قَالَ : " لَكِنَّكَ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ لَسْتَ بِكَاسِدٍ " ، أَوْ قَالَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " بَلْ أَنْتَ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ غَالٍ " .
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A man from the desert, who was called Zahir bin Haram, used to present gifts to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Then, when he was about to return, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) would also give him provisions. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "Zahir is our villager and we are his townspeople."
The narrator states: Once, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) came to him while he was (standing in the market) selling his goods. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) encircled him from behind with his arms. That man could not see you (the Prophet, peace be upon him). He said: "Let me go, who is it?" When he turned around and realized that it was the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), he pressed his back against the chest of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) asked: "Who will buy this slave?" Zahir said: "O Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)! You will find me of little value." The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "But in the sight of Allah, you are not of little value (the narrator is unsure, perhaps these are the words), rather, in the sight of Allah, you are valuable."
