Hadith 5765

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الأَزْدِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا جَرِيرٌ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ هَمَّامِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ ، قَالَ : كَانَ رَجُلٌ يَنْقُلُ الْحَدِيثَ إِلَى السُّلْطَانِ ، فَكُنَّا جُلُوسًا مَعَ حُذَيْفَةَ ، فَمَرَّ ذَلِكَ الرَّجُلُ ، قِيلَ : هُوَ هَذَا ، فَقَالَ حُذَيْفَةُ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " لا يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ قَتَّاتٌ " .
Hammam bin Harith narrates: There was a man who used to convey people's words to the ruler of the time. Once, we were sitting with Sayyiduna Hudhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him) when that man passed by. It was said that this is that person. So Sayyiduna Hudhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: The tale-bearer will not enter Paradise.
