Hadith 5723

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَعْلَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ أَبِي مُسْلِمٍ الْجَرْمِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مَخْلَدُ بْنُ حُسَيْنٍ ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ حَسَّانَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لا يَقُولَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ : زَرَعْتُ ، وَلَكِنْ لِيَقُلْ : حَرَثْتُ " ، قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ : أَلَمْ تَسْمَعْ إِلَى قَوْلِ اللَّهِ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى : أَفَرَأَيْتُمْ مَا تَحْرُثُونَ أَأَنْتُمْ تَزْرَعُونَهُ أَمْ نَحْنُ الزَّارِعُونَ سورة الواقعة آية 63 - 64 .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No person should ever say: 'I have created crops,' rather he should say: 'I have cultivated the land.'" Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Have you not heard the statement of Allah Almighty: "What is your opinion, have you cultivated it, or are We the ones who cause it to grow?"
