Hadith 5716

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْجُنَيْدِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ الْعَتَكِيُّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا الزُّبَيْرُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ سُلَيْمٍ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِنَّ الرَّجُلَ لَيَتَكَلَّمُ بِالْكَلِمَةِ يُضْحِكُ بِهَا جُلَسَاءَهُ ، يَهْوِي بِهَا مِنْ أَبْعَدَ مِنَ الثُّرَيَّا " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "A person says something to make his companions laugh, but because of it he will fall deeper (into Hell) than the distance between the earth and the star Thurayya (Pleiades, which is very high)."
