Hadith 5715

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الأَزْدِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، قَالَ : " كَانَ أَهْلُ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ يَقُولُونَ : إِنَّمَا يُهْلِكُنَا اللَّيْلُ وَالنَّهَارُ ، هُوَ الَّذِي يُهْلِكُنَا ، وَيُمِيتُنَا ، وَيُحْيِينَا ، قَالَ اللَّهُ : إِنْ هِيَ إِلا حَيَاتُنَا الدُّنْيَا سورة الأنعام آية 29 الآيَةَ " . قَالَ قَالَ الزُّهْرِيُّ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : يَقُولُ اللَّهُ جَلَّ وَعَلا : " يُؤْذِينِي ابْنُ آدَمَ ، يَسُبُّ الدَّهْرَ ، وَأَنَا الدَّهْرُ ، بِيَدِي الأَمْرُ ، أُقَلِّبُ لَيْلَهُ وَنَهَارَهُ ، فَإِذَا شِئْتُ قَبَضْتُهُمَا " .
Sufyan bin ‘Uyaynah narrates: The people of the Age of Ignorance used to say: The night and day have ruined us, they are the ones who destroyed us, they are the ones who gave us death, they are the ones who gave us life. So Allah the Exalted said: “This is nothing but our worldly life.”
Zuhri narrated from Sa‘id bin al-Musayyib, from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him), from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), that he said: “Allah the Exalted says: The son of Adam hurts Me when he curses the time, for I am the time; the matter is in My hand, I alternate the night and the day, and when I will, I will withhold them.”
Zuhri narrated from Sa‘id bin al-Musayyib, from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him), from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), that he said: “Allah the Exalted says: The son of Adam hurts Me when he curses the time, for I am the time; the matter is in My hand, I alternate the night and the day, and when I will, I will withhold them.”
