Hadith 5705

أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ قُتَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي السَّرِيِّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ حَلَفَ بِاللاتِ وَالْعُزَّى ، فَلْيَقُلْ : لا إِلَهَ إِلا اللَّهُ ، وَمَنْ قَالَ لِصَاحِبِهِ : تَعَالَ أُقَامِرْكَ ، فَلْيَتَصَدَّقْ بِشَيْءٍ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever swears by 'Lat' and 'Uzza', he should recite 'La ilaha illallah', and whoever says to his companion: 'Come, let me gamble with you,' he should give something in charity."
