أَخْبَرَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ بِسْطَامٍ بِالأَبُلَّةِ ، حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ لِعَائِشَةَ : يَا أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ، أَيُّ شَيْءٍ كَانَ يَصْنَعُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا كَانَ عِنْدَكِ ؟ قَالَتْ : " مَا يَفْعَلُ أَحَدُكُمْ فِي مِهْنَةِ أَهْلِهِ ، يَخْصِفُ نَعْلَهُ ، وَيَخِيطُ ثَوْبَهُ ، وَيَرْقَعُ دَلْوَهُ " .
Urwah reports: I asked Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her): O Mother of the Believers, when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was with you, what would he do? Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) replied: The same as any one of you does in his household chores. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would mend his own sandals, sew his own clothes, and repair his own bucket.
