Hadith 5672

أَخْبَرَنَا أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ زُهَيْرٍ بِالأَبُلَّةِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْكِنْدِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ فُضَيْلٍ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ اللَّهِ جَلَّ وَعَلا : " الْكِبْرِيَاءُ رِدَائِي ، وَالْعَظَمَةُ إِزَارِي ، فَمَنْ نَازَعَنِي فِي شَيْءٍ مِنْهُ ، أَدْخَلْتُهُ فِي النَّارِ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that Allah Almighty said: "Majesty is My cloak and greatness is My lower garment. Whoever tries to compete with Me regarding either of them, I will admit him into Hell."
