Hadith 5653

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدُ بْنُ مُسَرْهَدٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ الْمُفَضَّلِ ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنِ اقْتَنَى كَلْبًا إِلا كَلْبَ ضَارِيَةٍ أَوْ مَاشِيَةٍ ، فَإِنَّهُ يَنْقُصُ مِنْ أَجْرِهِ قِيرَاطَانِ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever keeps a dog, except for the purpose of guarding crops or livestock, two qirats are deducted from his reward every day."
