Hadith 5644

أَخْبَرَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَجْلانَ ، عَنْ بُكَيْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الأَشَجِّ ، عَنْ عَجْلانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " مَا سَالَمْنَاهُنَّ مُنْذُ حَارَبْنَاهُنَّ ، يَعْنِي الْحَيَّاتَ ، وَمَنْ تَرَكَ قَتْلَ شَيْءٍ مِنْهُنَّ خِيفَةً ، فَلَيْسَ مِنَّا " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Since we started fighting them, we have not left them unharmed. (The narrator says: The Prophet said this regarding snakes.) And whoever refrains from killing any one of them out of fear is not from among us."
