Hadith 5621

أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ قُتَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي السَّرِيِّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، أَخْبَرَنِي حُمَيْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " دَخَلْتِ امْرَأَةٌ النَّارَ فِي هِرَّةٍ رَبَطَتْهَا ، فَلا هِيَ أَطْعَمَتْهَا ، وَلا هِيَ أَرْسَلَتْهَا تَأْكُلُ مِنْ خَشَاشِ الأَرْضِ ، حَتَّى مَاتَتْ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "A woman entered Hell because of a cat. She had tied up the cat; she neither gave it food nor did she release it so that it could eat on its own, until the cat died."
