Hadith 5619

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَعْلَى ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمُؤَدِّبُ ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ مُعَاذِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، وَكَانَ أَبُوهُ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " ارْكَبُوا هَذِهِ الدَّوَابَّ سَالِمَةً ، وَلا تَتَّخِذُوهَا كَرَاسِيَّ " ، قَالَ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ : فَمَعْنَاهُ أَنَّهُ لا يَسِيرُ بِهَا ، وَلا يَنْزِلُ عَنْهَا .
Sahl bin Mu’adh narrates from his father, who was a companion of the Prophet (peace be upon him), that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Ride these animals with safety, and do not make them chairs.” (Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) This means do not use them in such a way that you never get down from them.
