Hadith 5592

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَعْلَى ، حَدَّثَنَا مُجَاهِدُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُسْتَمِرُّ بْنُ الرَّيَّانِ ، عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَنَّ امْرَأَةً مِنْ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ كَانَتْ قَصِيرَةً ، فَاتَّخَذَتْ لَهَا نَعْلَيْنِ مِنْ خَشَبِ ، فَكَانَتْ تَمْشِي بَيْنَ امْرَأَتَيْنِ طَوِيلَتَيْنِ تَطَاوَلُ بِهِمَا ، وَاتَّخَذَتْ خَاتَمًا مِنْ ذَهَبٍ ، وَحَشَتْ تَحْتَ فَصِّهِ أَطْيَبَ الطِّيبِ الْمِسْكَ ، فَكَانَتْ إِذَا مَرَّتْ بِالْمَجْلِسِ ، حَرَّكَتْهُ ، فَيَفُوحُ رِيحُهُ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "There was a woman from the Children of Israel who was short in stature. She had shoes made of wood, and when she walked between two tall women, she appeared tall because of them. She had a ring made of gold and filled its stone with the best musk fragrance. Whenever she passed by a gathering, she would shake that ring, as a result of which its fragrance would spread."
