Hadith 5588

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَلْمٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْخَيْرِ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عُقْبَةَ بْنَ عَامِرٍ ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لا تَدْخُلُوا عَلَى النِّسَاءِ " ، فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الأَنْصَارِ : أَفَرَأَيْتَ الْحَمْوَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الْحَمْوُ الْمَوْتُ " .
Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not go to women." An Ansari asked: "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! What is your opinion about the brother-in-law?" The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The brother-in-law is death."
