It is narrated about Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them): When he would lie down on his bed, he would recite: "O Allah! You have created my soul, You will give it death. Its death and life are in Your hand. O Allah! If You cause it to die, then forgive it, and if You keep it alive, then protect it. O Allah! I ask You for well-being." Then one of the descendants of Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) inquired: Did Sayyiduna Imran (may Allah be pleased with him) recite these words? He replied: No, rather a person better than Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) used to recite these words. The narrator states: We think that he attributed this to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)."
