Hadith 5502

أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا بُنْدَارٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ كُلَيْبٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عَلِيًّا ، يَقُولُ : " نَهَانِي نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الْقَسِّيِّ ، وَالْمِيثَرَةِ ، وَعَنِ الْخَاتَمِ فِي السَّبَّابَةِ وَالْوسْطَى " .
Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade me from (wearing) Qassi and Maitharah (i.e., specific types of cloth) and from wearing a ring on the index finger and the middle finger.
