Hadith 5490

أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمُثَنَّى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ الْكِنْدِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، أَنَّهُ " أَبْصَرَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَاتَمًا مِنْ وَرِقٍ يَوْمًا وَاحِدًا ، فَصَنَعَ النَّاسُ خَوَاتِيمَ مِنْ وَرِقٍ ، فَلَبِسُوهَا ، فَطَرَحَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَاتَمَهُ ، فَطَرَحَ النَّاسُ خَوَاتِيمَهُمْ " .
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Once he saw the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) wearing a silver ring, so the people also had silver rings made and wore them. When the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) took off his ring, the people also took off their rings.
