Hadith 5458

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَرُوبَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سَلَمَةُ بْنُ شَبِيبٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَعْيَنَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مَعْقِلُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ فِي غَزْوَةٍ غَزَوْنَاهَا : " اسْتَكْثِرُوا مِنَ النِّعَالِ ، فَإِنَّ الرَّجُلَ لا يَزَالُ رَاكِبًا مَا انْتَعَلَ " .
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: During a military expedition, I heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Wear shoes most of the time, for as long as a person keeps his shoes on, he is like a rider."
