Hadith 5432

أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا هُدْبَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، أَنَّ الزُّبَيْرَ بْنَ الْعَوَّامِ ، وَعَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ عَوْفٍ ، شَكَيَا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْقَمْلَ فِي غَزَاةٍ لَهُمَا ، " فَرَخَّصَ لَهُمَا فِي قُمُصِ الْحَرِيرِ ، فَرَأَيْتُ عَلَى كُلِّ وَاحِدٍ مِنْهُمَا قَمِيصَ حَرِيرٍ " .
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Sayyiduna Zubair bin Al-Awwam (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna Abdur Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) complained to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about lice. This happened during a battle. So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) permitted both of them to wear silk shirts. I saw both of them wearing silk shirts.
