Hadith 539

أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ قُتَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا بَحْرُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، أَنَّ دَرَّاجًا أَبَا السَّمْحِ ، حَدَّثَهُ عَنِ ابْنِ حُجَيْرَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " غُفِرَ لِرَجُلٍ أَخَذَ غُصْنَ شَوْكٍ عَنْ طَرِيقِ النَّاسِ ذَنْبُهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ ، وَمَا تَأَخَّرَ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "All the past and future sins of a person were forgiven who had removed a thorny branch from the path of people (and set it aside)."
