Sayyiduna Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent me to Yemen, so I said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! There, drinks called Bit' and Mizr are used. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: What is Bit'? I replied: It is a drink made from honey, and Mizr is a drink made from barley. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Every intoxicating thing is forbidden.
