Hadith 5335

أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ السَّاعِدِيِّ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أُتِيَ بِشَرَابٍ ، وَعَنْ يَمِينِهِ غُلامٌ ، وَعَنْ يَسَارِهِ الأَشْيَاخُ ، فَقَالَ لِلْغُلامِ : " أَتَأْذَنُ لِي أَنْ أُعْطِيَ هَؤُلاءِ ؟ فَقَالَ : لا وَاللَّهِ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، لا أُوثِرُ بِنَصِيبِي مِنْكَ أَحَدًا ، قَالَ : فَتَلَّهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي يَدِهِ " .
Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa'di (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A drink was presented to the Prophet (peace be upon him). On his right side, a boy was sitting, and on his left side were elderly people. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said to the boy: "Will you permit me to give this to them first?" He replied: "No, by Allah, O Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)! I will not give preference to anyone over my share that comes from you." The narrator says: So the Prophet (peace be upon him) placed the vessel in his hand.
