Hadith 5307

أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ حَمَّادٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو غَسَّانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، قَالَ : كُنَّا " نُصَلِّي مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ ، ثُمَّ تَكُونُ الْقَائِلَةُ ، وَكَانَتْ فِينَا امْرَأَةٌ ، فَكَانَتْ تَجْعَلُ فِي مَزْرَعَةٍ لَهَا سِلْقًا ، فَكَانَتْ إِذَا كَانَ يَوْمُ الْجُمُعَةِ تَنْزِعُ أُصُولَ السِّلْقِ ، فَتَجْعَلُهُ فِي قِدْرٍ ، ثُمَّ تَجْعَلُ عَلَيْهِ قَبْضَةً مِنْ شَعِيرٍ فَتَطْحَنُهَا فَيَكُونُ ذَلِكَ السِّلْقُ عُرَاقَةً ، قَالَ سَهْلٌ : فَكُنَّا نَنْصَرِفُ إِلَيْهَا مِنْ صَلاةِ الْجُمُعَةِ ، فَنُسَلِّمُ عَلَيْهَا ، فَتُقَرِّبُ ذَلِكَ الطَّعَامَ إِلَيْنَا ، فَنَلْعَقُهُ ، قَالَ : فَكُنَّا نَتَمَنَّى يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ لِطَعَامِهَا ذَلِكَ .
Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: We used to perform the Friday prayer behind the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). After that, we would take a midday nap (qailulah). There was a woman among us who used to plant beets in her field. When Friday would come, she would pull out the beet roots and cook them in a pot. She would add a handful of barley to it and roast them, making a stew out of it. Sayyiduna Sahl says: After performing the Friday prayer, we would return to that woman. We would greet her with salam, and she would present the food before us, and we would eat it. Because of this food, we used to look forward to the day of Friday (hoping it would come soon).
