Sayyiduna Abu Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: There was a man from the Ansar whose name was Abu Shu’aib. He had a servant who used to cook meat. When he saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he noticed hunger on the face of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He said to his servant: Prepare food for five of us; I wish to invite the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) along with four others. The narrator says: That man prepared the food, then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came along with five men. Another person also followed behind him. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) reached the door, he said: This person has come along with us; if you wish, you may permit him, and if you wish, he may return. He said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! I permit him.
