Hadith 5280

أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْحَجَّاجِ النِّيلِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي بِشْرٍ ، عَنْ مَيْمُونَ بْنِ مِهْرَانَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ أَكْلِ كُلِّ ذِي نَابٍ مِنَ السِّبَاعِ ، وَكُلِّ ذِي مِخْلَبٍ مِنَ الطَّيْرِ " ، النِّيلُ : قَرْيَةٌ بِوَاسِطَ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade (the eating of) every predatory animal with sharp teeth and every bird with sharp talons.
(Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) Neil is a settlement in Wasit.
