Hadith 5257

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ أَبِي يَعْفُورَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ أَبِي أَوْفَى ، قَالَ : " غَزَوْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَبْعَ غَزَوَاتٍ أَوْ سِتَّ غَزَوَاتٍ شَكَّ شُعْبَةُ ، فَكُنَّا نَأْكُلُ مَعَهُ الْجَرَادَ " .
Sayyiduna Ibn Abi Awfa (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: We participated with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in seven (the narrator is in doubt, perhaps these are the words) or six such expeditions in which we ate locusts along with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).
