أَخْبَرَنَا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ مُوسَى بْنِ مُجَاشِعٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي بَحِيرُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ مَعْدَانَ ، قَالَ : شَهِدْنَا طَعَامًا فِي مَنْزِلِ عَبْدِ الأَعْلَى ، وَمَعَنَا أَبُو أُمَامَةَ ، فَقَالَ أَبُو أُمَامَةَ عِنْدَ انْقِضَاءِ الطَّعَامِ : مَا أُحِبُّ أَنْ أَكُونَ خَطِيبًا ، كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ عِنْدَ انْقِضَاءِ الطَّعَامِ : " الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ حَمْدًا كَثِيرًا ، طَيِّبًا ، مُبَارَكًا فِيهِ ، غَيْرَ مُوَدَّعٍ ، وَلا مُسْتَغْنًى عَنْهُ " ، قَالَ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ : سَمِعَ هَذَا الْخَبَرَ مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ جَشِيبِ ، وَبَحِيرُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ مَعْدَانَ ، فَالطَّرِيقَانِ جَمِيعًا مَحْفُوظَانِ .
Khalid bin Ma'dan narrates: We were invited to a meal at the house of 'Abdul A'la. With us was Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him). After finishing the meal, Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I do not like to start giving a sermon, but the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite this supplication after finishing the meal: "All praise is exclusively for Allah, such praise that is abundant, pure, blessed, not forsaken, and not dispensed with."
(Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) This narration has been heard by Mu'awiyah bin Salih from 'Amir bin Jashib, and by Buheir bin Sa'd from Khalid bin Ma'dan, so both its chains are preserved.
