Hadith 5178

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُوسَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الشُّفْعَةُ فِي كُلِّ رَبْعَةٍ أو حَائِطٍ ، لا يَصْلُحُ لَهُ أَنْ يَبِيعَ حَتَّى يَعْرِضَ عَلَى صَاحِبِهِ ، فَإِنْ شَاءَ أَخَذَ ، وَإِنْ شَاءَ تَرَكَ " .
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There is pre-emption in every land and garden. It is not permissible to sell it until a person offers it to his partner regarding this. If he wishes, he may take it, and if he wishes, he may leave it."
