Hadith 5127

أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْجَبَّارِ بْنُ الْعَلاءِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لا تُرْقِبُوا وَلا تُعْمِرُوا ، فَمَنْ أَعْمَرَ شَيْئًا أَوْ أَُرْقَبَ فَهُوَ لَهُ " .
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not make (your possessions) as Ruqba or Umra. Whoever gives something as Umra or Ruqba, then it will belong to (that other person)."
