Sayyiduna Bahzi (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) set out to travel towards Makkah. When he reached the place of Ruha, there was a zebra there whose leg was injured. This matter was mentioned to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), so he said: Leave it, soon its owner will come to it. Then Sayyiduna Bahzi (may Allah be pleased with him) arrived; he was its owner. He came to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! You may use this zebra. So the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) instructed Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) regarding it. Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) distributed it among his companions. Then the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) continued on his journey. When he reached the place of Athaya between Ruwaytha and ‘Arj, there was a deer sitting in the shade which had been struck by an arrow. Sayyiduna Bahzi (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) instructed a man to stay by the deer so that no one would disturb it until the people had passed by.
