Hadith 5106

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الأَزْدِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْحَنْظَلِيُّ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ أَبِي هِنْدٍ ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ ، قَالَ : إِنَّ أَبِي نَحَلَنِي كَذَا وَكَذَا ، فَأَتَى بِي رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِيُشْهِدَهُ ، فَقَالَ : " أَكُلَّ وَلَدِكَ ، أَعْطَيْتَ مِثْلَ مَا أَعْطَيْتَ ؟ فَقَالَ : لا ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَشْهِدْ عَلَى هَذَا غَيْرِي ، هَذَا جَوْرٌ " ثُمْ قَالَ : " أَتُحِبُّونَ أَنْ يَكُونُوا فِي الْبِرِّ سَوَاءً ؟ " قَالَ : نَعَمْ ، قَالَ : " فَلا إِذًا " .
Sayyiduna Nu’man bin Bashir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: My father gave me such and such things as a gift. He took me to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) so that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) could be a witness to it. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked: Have you given all your children gifts like you have given to him? He replied: No. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Then make someone else a witness besides me. This is injustice. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Do you not wish that all your children should be equal in showing kindness to you? He replied: Yes, indeed. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Then this is not correct.
