Hadith 5101

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الأَزْدِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَتِ امْرَأَةُ بَشِيرٍ : " انْحَلِ ابْنِي هَذَا غُلامًا ، وَأَشْهِدْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ ، يَعْنِي رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَلَهُ إِخْوَةٌ ؟ " قَالَ : نَعَمْ ، قَالَ : " فَأَعْطَيْتُ كُلَّ وَاحِدٍ مِنْهُمْ مِثْلَ مَا أَعْطَيْتُهُ ؟ " فَقَالَ : لا ، فَقَالَ : " لا يَصْلُحُ هَذَا ، وَإِنِّي لا أَشْهَدُ إِلا عَلَى الْحَقِّ " .
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The wife of Sayyiduna Bashir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Give this son of mine a slave as a gift and make the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) a witness to it. So he, that is, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), asked (the father of Sayyiduna Nu'man bin Bashir, may Allah be pleased with him): Does he have any other brothers? He replied: Yes. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked: Have you given each of them a gift like you have given him? He replied: No. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: This is not correct, and I only bear witness to what is right.
