Hadith 5099

أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حِبَّانُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ فِطْرٍ ، عَنْ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ صُبَيْحٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ النُّعْمَانَ بْنَ بَشِيرٍ وَهُوَ يَخْطُبُ ، يَقُولُ : انْطَلَقَ بِي أَبِي إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِيُشْهِدَهُ عَلَى عَطِيَّةٍ أَعْطَانِيهَا ، فَقَالَ : " هَلْ لَكَ بَنُونَ سِوَاهُ ؟ " قَالَ : نَعَمْ ، قَالَ : " سَوِّ بَيْنَهُمْ " .
Sayyiduna Nu’man bin Bashir (may Allah be pleased with him) stated while delivering a sermon: My father took me along to the service of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) so that he could make the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) a witness to the gift he had given me. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: Do you have any other sons besides him? He replied: Yes. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Then treat them equally.
