Hadith 5079

أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ حَزْمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ عُثْمَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي عَمْرَةَ الأَنْصَارِيِّ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " أَلا أُخْبِرُكُمْ بِخَيْرِ الشُّهَدَاءِ ، الَّذِي يَأْتِي بِشَهَادَتِهِ أَوْ يُحَدِّثُهَا قَبْلَ أَنْ يُسْأَلَهَا " .
Sayyiduna Zayd bin Khalid al-Juhani (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): "Shall I not tell you about the best of witnesses? They are those who present their testimony before they are asked for it. (The narrator is in doubt, perhaps these are the words:) They state it."
