Sayyiduna Abu Mas’ud Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “A man from among the people before you was called to account, and no good deed was found in his favor except that he was a prosperous man who used to have dealings with people. He would say to his servant: ‘Overlook (the debt) of the one who is in difficulty.’ So Allah Almighty said to His angels: ‘We are more deserving of this (quality), so you overlook him.’”
