Hadith 4985

أَخْبَرَنَا حَامِدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مَنْصُورُ بْنُ أَبِي مُزَاحِمٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الأَحْوَصِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ رُفَيْعٍ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ ، عَنْ حِزَامِ بْنِ حَكِيمِ بْنِ حِزَامٍ يَعْنِي ، عَنْ حَكِيمِ بْنِ حِزَامٍ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : اشْتَرَيْتُ طَعَامًا مِنْ طَعَامِ الصَّدَقَةِ ، فَأَرْبَحْتُ فِيهِ قَبْلَ أَنْ أَقْبِضَهُ ، فَأَرَدْتُ بَيْعَهُ ، فَسَأَلْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لا تَبِعْهُ حَتَّى تَقْبِضَهُ " .
Sayyiduna Hakim bin Hizam (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I bought some grain from the charity grain. Before taking possession of it, I started getting profit from it. I intended to sell it. I asked the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) about this, so he said: Do not sell it until you have taken possession of it.
