Hadith 495

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ يُوسُفَ ، حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ الْمُفَضَّلِ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَجْلانَ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا انْتَهَى أَحَدُكُمْ إِلَى مَجْلِسٍ فَلْيُسَلِّمْ ، وَإِذَا قَامَ فَلْيُسَلِّمْ ، فَلَيْسَتِ الأُولَى بِأَحَقَّ مِنَ الآخِرَةِ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When a person comes to a gathering, he should greet (with Salam), and when he gets up (to leave), he should greet (with Salam), because the first is not more entitled than the second."
