Hadith 4949

أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بِحَرَّانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا النُّفَيْلِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ الثَّوْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ بَيْعِ الْوَلاءِ ، وَعَنْ هِبَتِهِ " ، قَالَ زُهَيْرٌ : وَحَدَّثَنِي بِهِ ابْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ بِمِثْلِ ذَلِكَ ، اسْمُهُ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade selling or gifting the right of wala (clientship). The narrator named Zuhair states: The son of Abdullah bin Dinar narrated this hadith to me from his father in the same manner. His name is Abdur Rahman bin Abdullah bin Dinar.
