Hadith 4920

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ ، عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : كُنْتُ أَبِيعُ الإِبِلَ فِي الْبَقِيعِ ، فَأَبِيعُ بِالدَّنَانِيرِ وَآخُذُ الدَّرَاهِمَ ، وَأَبِيعُ بِالدَّرَاهِمِ وَآخُذُ الدَّنَانِيرَ ، فَأَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ فِي بَيْتِ حَفْصَةَ ، فَقُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنِّي أَبِيعُ الإِبِلَ بِالْبَقِيعِ ، فَأَبِيعُ بِالدَّنَانِيرِ وَآخُذُ الدَّرَاهِمَ ، وَأَبِيعُ بِالدَّرَاهِمِ وَآخُذُ الدَّنَانِيرَ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لا بَأْسَ إِذَا أَخَذْتُهُمَا بِسِعْرِ يَوْمِهِمَا فَافْتَرَقْتُمَا وَلَيْسَ بَيْنَكُمَا شَيْءٌ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: I used to sell camels in Baqi'. I would sell camels for dinars and receive dirhams, or I would sell for dirhams and receive dinars. I came to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). At that time, you were present in the house of Sayyidah Hafsah (may Allah be pleased with her). I said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)! I sold camels in Baqi'. I sold them for dinars and received dirhams instead of dinars, or I sold them for dirhams and received dinars instead. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: There is no harm in this when you receive payment according to the value of that day, and both of you (parties) separate in such a state that there is no (condition of deferred payment) between you.
