أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمُثَنَّى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا
عَبْدُ الأَعْلَى بْنُ حَمَّادٍ النَّرْسِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا
حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا
هَارُونُ بْنُ رِئَابٍ ، عَنْ
كِنَانَةَ بْنِ نُعَيْمٍ الْعَدَوِيِّ ، عَنْ
قَبِيصَةَ بْنِ مُخَارِقٍ الْهِلالِيِّ ، قَالَ : تَحَمَّلْتُ حَمَالَةً عَنْ قَوْمِي ، فَقُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنِّي تَحَمَّلْتُ حَمَالَةً عَنْ قَوْمِي ، فَأَعِنِّي فِيهَا ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " بَلْ نَحْمِلُهُ عَنْكَ " ، قَالَ : هِيَ لَكَ فِي إِبِلِ الصَّدَقَةِ إِذَا جَاءَتْ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : " يَا قَبِيصَةُ بْنَ مُخَارِقٍ ، إِنَّ الْمَسْأَلَةَ لا تَحِلُّ ، إِلا لإِحْدَى ثَلاثٍ ، رَجُلٍ تَحَمَّلَ حَمَالَةً عَنْ قَوْمِهِ إِرَادَةَ الإِصْلاحِ ، فَسَأَلَ حَتَّى إِذَا بَلَغَ أُمْنِيَّتَهُ أَمْسَكَ ، وَرَجُلٍ أَصَابَتْهُ فَاقَةٌ فَشَهِدَ لَهُ ثَلاثَةٌ مِنْ ذَوِي الْحِجَا مِنْ قَوْمِهِ حَتَّى إِذَا أَصَابَ قِوَامًا أَوْ سِدَادًا أَمْسَكَ ، وَرَجُلٍ أَصَابَتْهُ جَائِحَةٌ فَسَأَلَ حَتَّى إِذَا أَصَابَ قِوَامًا أَوْ سِدَادًا أَمْسَكَ ، وَمَا سِوَى ذَلِكَ يَا قَبِيصَةُ مِنَ الْمَسْأَلَةِ سُحْتٌ " ، قَالَهَا ثَلاثًا .
Sayyiduna Qabisah bin Mukhariq Bilali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I took upon myself a payment on behalf of my people. I submitted: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! I have taken upon myself a payment on behalf of my people, please help me regarding this. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: We take this payment upon ourselves for you. When the camels of charity arrive, you will receive this (amount or item of payment). Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O Qabisah bin Mukhariq! Asking (for charity) is not permissible for anyone except for one of three types of people. One is the person who, with good intention, takes upon himself a payment on behalf of his people; he may ask until his need is fulfilled, then he should refrain (from asking). The second is the person who is afflicted by hunger and three experienced people from his people testify in his favor (then he may ask) until his needs are met (here the narrator is unsure about a word), then he should refrain (from asking). The third is the person whose (agricultural produce) is struck by a calamity; he may ask until his needs are met (here the narrator is unsure about a word), then he should refrain from asking. O Qabisah! Whoever asks beyond this, it will be unlawful for him. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said this three times.
