Sayyiduna Abu Dharr Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): “There are three people whom Allah Almighty loves. One is the person who comes to a people and asks them in the name of Allah, not because of any kinship with them, and then one of them turns back and secretly gives him something, such that no one knows about this gift except Allah Almighty and the one who gave it. (The second type of person is) those who are traveling at night, and when sleep becomes dearest to them, they camp and lay down their heads to sleep, but one person stands up and supplicates in My presence, reciting My verses. (And the third person is) the one who participates in a battle, and when he faces the enemy, his companions retreat, but he advances with his chest forward until he is martyred or attains victory.”
