Hadith 477

أَخْبَرَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ الْعَبْدِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ الثَّوْرِيُّ ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو : إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، لَمْ يَكُنْ فَاحِشًا ، وَلا مُتَفَاحِشًا ، وَكَانَ يَقُولُ : " خِيَارُكُمْ أَحَاسِنُكُمْ أَخْلاقًا " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) did not use obscene language. He did not display foul speech. He used to say: "The best among you are those who have the best character."
