Hadith 474

أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ الصُّوفِيُّ بِبَغْدَادَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الرُّومِيِّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا النَّضْرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عِكْرِمَةُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو زُمَيْلٍ ، عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ مَرْثَدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " تَبَسُّمُكَ فِي وَجْهِ أَخِيكَ صَدَقَةٌ " قَالَ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ : أَبُو زُمَيْلٍ هَذَا : هُوَ سِمَاكُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ الْحَنَفِيُّ يَمَانِيٌّ ثِقَةٌ ، وَالنَّضْرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ هَذَا : هُوَ الْجُرَشِيُّ الْيَمَامِيُّ ، وَالنَّضْرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْقُرَشِيُّ : مَرْوَزِيٌّ ، صَاحِبُ الرَّأْيِ ، وَكَانَا فِي زَمَنٍ وَاحِدٍ .
Sayyiduna Abu Dharr Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Your smiling at your brother is also charity." (Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) The narrator named Abu Zumail is Simak bin Waleed Hanafi Yamani, and he is trustworthy, while the narrator named Nasr bin Muhammad is Jurashi Yamani, and Nadr bin Muhammad is Quraishi Marwazi, who was a man of opinion, and both of them lived in the same era.
