Hadith 4714

أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ سَلْمٍ الأَصْبَهَانِيُّ بِالرَّيِّ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِصَامِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ بْنِ عَجْلانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، قَالَ : كُنَّا فِي غَزَاةٍ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَقَدْ شَهِدَكُمْ أَقْوَامٌ بِالْمَدِينَةِ ، حَبَسَهُمُ الْمَرَضُ " .
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: We were participating in a battle when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: There are some people who have also joined you in this (battle) while they are in Madinah. These are the people who could not participate in the battle due to illness.
