Hadith 4694

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى الْقَطَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي عُبَيْدٍ ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الأَكْوَعِ ، قَالَ : خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى قَوْمٍ مِنْ أَسْلَمَ يَتَنَاضَلُونَ بِالسُّوقِ ، فَقَالَ : " ارْمُوا بَنِي إِِسْمَاعِيلَ ، فَإِِنَّ أَبَاكُمْ كَانَ رَامِيًا . وَأَنَا مَعَ بَنِي فُلانٍ " ، لأَحَدِ الْفَرِقَيْنِ ، فَأَمْسَكُوا بِأَيْدِيهِمْ ، فَقَالَ : " مَا لَكُمُ ارْمُوا " . قَالُوا : وَكَيْفَ نَرْمِي وَأَنْتَ مَعَ بَنِي فُلانٍ ؟ قَالَ : " ارْمُوا وَأَنَا مَعَكُمْ كُلُّكُمْ " .
Sayyiduna Salamah bin Akwa’ (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) came to some people from the tribe of Aslam who were competing in archery in the market. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O children of Isma’il, shoot arrows, for your forefather was an archer, and I am with Banu Fulan. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said this about one group, the other group stopped their hands. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: What happened? Why are you not shooting? They replied: How can we shoot when you are with Banu Fulan? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Shoot, for I am with all of you.
